When I tried to post to the list my email came back with the message: Sorry, for some reason your message has been rejected

Normally this means that you are trying to post to the list from an email address that is not subscribed to the list. The list-server will only allow emails from subscribed members to prevent outsiders sending lots of spam emails to the list.

Possible solutions are:

• Re-post your email from the address you are subscribed with
• Change your subscription address - see: Membership options
• Subscribe with both addresses and set one to 'receive no mail' (so that you don't receive 2 copies of each cham-share email) - see: Membership options

All these emails are cluttering up my inbox!

If the list gets very busy it can be difficult to distinguish list emails from 'proper' emails

Digest form You can change your subscription options to receive cham-share in digest form. This means that instead of receiving each cham-share email as it is sent, the list-server will bundle all the days emails in to one mega-email and send it to you in the evening.

Filter your email - Most email programs allow you to set up a separate folder and automatically filter your email in to that folder. In Outlook Express / Entourage you will find the options to do this under
Menu > Tools > Rules
In apple mail you will find them under Menu > Mail > Preferences > Rules
To set up a new rule:

• Click 'New'
• Under 'if' select 'subject' and add '[cham-share]'
• Under 'then' select 'Move message' and choose the appropriate folder

Another suggestion is to set up a separate gmail account for your cham-share email.

Can I send attachments, pictures etc. to the list?

Attachments can be sent, but remember that not everyone has an internet connection as fast as yours. There is a limit of 100kB on mails going through the list server.

Why is this web page all in English?

I'm not a great translator. If you'd like to get involved and help with that side of things, then I'm happy to work on setting up the wiki so it has different language versions of each page. --Tom 13:32, 3 April 2009 (CEST)

Membership options: How do I find out my password / change my subscription options?

You can change lots of things about your subscription:

• Digest mode / normal (1 mail big mail at the end of the day or lots of separate ones as they are sent)
• Temporarily disable your subscription
• Unsubscribe
• Change your password, etc.

by changing options on the list info page:

The page requires a password, you can ask it to send you a reminder from the button at the bottom of that page.
